Inflation caused by the current global crisis is hitting the poorest disproportionally. Cost increases in basic food supplies are very challenging when you live on a few soles per day. Therefore, monitoring the food situation in the communities remains important and occasionally, we bring non-perishable food to a local “olla comun” (community kitchen). This usually consists of rice, lentils, milk powder, and sugar,… and allows the families to replenish a small food reserve and ensure at least one daily meal for the children.
We are very happy that we can count on some local supporters who provide us with basic necessities like food, but also medication, diapers, and other hygiene products. Essential products that are too expensive for many families. If you are in Lima and you want to help as well, don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
