One of the communities where we work is far from the power grid, which causes a lot of problems, especially during the foggy period. Due to poor visibility, there are often accidents. None of the houses even had a light bulb. The community leaders had identified access to electricity as a priority and since there are no plans to extend the grid to the community, we decided to fund the purchase of a second-hand electricity generator. The community built a safe shelter and took care of the installation of the cables in order to provide the majority of the houses with power for a few hours a day.
