On February 19, we have inaugurated 3 newly built water reservoirs and a pipe, tap and pump system allowing for the water to be distributed to the different homes of the community. Each reservoir has a capacity of 15,000 liters. The project will be completed later this year with the installation of several “fog catchers” that will capture water from the heavy fog that is covering the hills between mid-April and October. In the meantime, the water reservoirs will be filled by water trucks.
This inauguration is another important milestone in the sustainable development of these communities and a perfect illustration of the collaboration with and the motivation and dedication of the local communities. During the inauguration, we witnessed a “halo”, a spectacular and rare weather phenomenon, interpreted as a sign of good fortune by the people of the communities!
